Join us for Doctor Who 45th Anniversary at La Fontana in Burnaby! Good food, people and definitely watching the pilot episode of the show from 1963 and whatever else we can dig up. The cafe has a DVD player and big screen tv. The cafe serves sandwhiches, hot food, baked goods, smoothies, juices, soft drinks, teas, and coffee's. Tell your friends! Would be fantastic to get a large group together for this. We have the whole cafe to ourselves for this night!

There's definitely a DVD player and big screen, and most likely a VHS as well

It's not a bank but I do have a TARDIS. The light really works & it's bigger on the inside than the outside.

I have one friend who has said he will be attending, and a second one that may be able to attend as well. Will find more out later on the second person.

Does someone have the last Xmas special, the 1 with the Titanic? We want to watch it on Sunday.

Hotty291ca. It would be fine with Martin and I if you bring the girls. I am sure the rest of the group would be fine with that. When we used to do the DW events in T.O. there were always kids and I was around 8 when I began to watch the show so....

Don't have DVDs BUT have some VERY OLD (80's actually) tapes that we managed to keep when we moved across country. I think we still have the 5 Doctors but the quality sucks. Recorded it off PBS YEARS ago. Maybe I'll snatch it if we make it. Looking like we will and may bring a friend or two.

So, other than "Unearthly Child" anyone have any other suggestions for what episodes to watch? Anyone have a DVD they can bring?

    •  Was an excellent event. It seemed like every one had a good time. We got to watch both new and old Doctor Who. There were costumes, toys, and fun. The event was an excellent sucsess.

It's been too long since I've jung with DW people. Thanks loads guys!!!!!
    •  Great shows, good conversation and I always meet really nice friendly people at meetups.
    •  La Fontana Cafe is great! Had fun watching some old Who and new and meeting some new people. Thanks guys!
    •  I think it is cool that such a great show has withstood the test of time and is still going strong. The group on the other hand were mild. I hope this is not a general problem for meetup groups, with strangers getting together and being shy about it. With an attitude not unlike the Doctor's, I am far from shy. So, to you people who need that kick in the rear, hello.

Should have watched Voyage of the Damned first, then Unearthly Child, as we had to leave early.
    •  Great party! Hope we're still around for the 50th anniversary (2013)
