The Raleigh Doctor Who Meetup Group



The Raleigh Doctor Who Meetup Group is a diverse group of avid fans from all walks of life who love Doctor Who. We get together early in the month for a casual meeting (games, discussions, etc.). Later in the month we have a meet-and-eat viewing party where there is meeting and eating and viewing (classic and new Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane, etc.). All are welcome. The more the merrier.

Memories. That's what brings some of us together. Memories of our favorite Doctor, our favorite villain, our favorite story. Memories of watching the Doctor save the town, the planet , or the universe, and cheering each and every time. We all enjoyed watching the Doctor smile his way through problems as if clueless, only to realize, with that same smile, that he already had the upper-hand on the bad guy. The memories, however, were not always happy. We were often saddened by the departure of friends and companions. Some choosing to move-on, some simply being left behind, and others paying the ultimate price in a never ending attempt to rid the universe of evil. For many of us, I'm sure our worst memory was hearing that our favorite show was canceled and, as the passing years seemed to be saying, would never return.

Come out and share your memories. We love memories. Memories are good.

Memories are wonderful, but the one thing that brings us all together are the possibilities for the future. After many years away, except for one under-appreciated and slightly controversial t.v. movie, the Doctor has returned. With new companions, new and classic villains, and two successful spin-off shows, the new series of Doctor Who looks like it may be around for a long time. We hope.
