I know it can be done. I lowered my A1c from 8.4 to 6.8 in 7 weeks with diet alone. And by increasing the amount of exercise, it came down to 6.3 in another 5 weeks. My doctor has been reducing my use of oral meds, and my A1c has gone all the way down to 5.5 (all in about 6 months).
